Created in response to H.R. 3742 or “Recovering America’s Wildlife Act”. It was introduced in 2019 to help improve habitat for one species per state. It would amend the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act to make supplemental funds available to proactively manage at-risk species and prevent them from being added to the federal list of threatened and endangered species. By picking out one, such as the wood turtle for Pennsylvania, monarch butterfly in Ohio, or green salamander living in West Virginia, whole localities can and will improve for all sorts of wildlife.
